General / Autonomous Vessel Operations
Kraken Technology US Inc. will conduct autonomous, unmanned maritime vehicle operations using the Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV) K5 KRAKEN outside the Port of Los Angeles-Long Beach in the San Pedro Channel from 0700 local time to sunset. Operations will occur in Operation Area 1 from October 14 through October 15, 2026, bounded by the following coordinates: 33-44.10N 118-25.02W; 33-42.11N 118-26.96W; 33-39.12N 118-20.02W; and 33-41.56N 118-18.37W. Operations will occur in Operation Area 2 from October 20 through November 18, 2026, bounded by the following coordinates: 33-26.39N 117-44.05W; 33-18.48N 117-36.83W; 33-13.76N 117-48.50W; and 33-23.77N 117-55.80W. Operations may also occur in Operation Area 3 from October 20 through November 18, 2026, bounded by the following coordinates: 33-32.92N 118-07.73W; 33-32.98N 117-51.48W; 33-26.15N 117-49.65W; and 33-23.74N 118-03.82W. The USV K5 KRAKEN is a 36-foot by 8-foot gray vessel with an A-frame mast and will display navigation lights. The USV will be towed from the Port of Los Angeles-Long Beach to the designated operating areas by M/V HANK THE TANK.
