SeaLagom is operated by an individual, not a company or business entity. This site aggregates and redistributes publicly available maritime safety information. At the time of display, the sources used did not have any restrictions on the use of such information. Most of the information provided is based on my professional experience as a licensed navigator with relevant competency. SeaLagom carries no advertising networks, no tracking ads and no affiliate links. Clearly labelled sponsored mentions and partner placements may appear on some pages and on map or sky layers. Every such item is marked "Sponsored", carries rel="sponsored" when it links out, never changes the warnings or the data, and can be removed by SeaLagom at any time. Content may be edited or removed upon a legitimate request.

1. Data Collection and Processing

1.1 Types of Data Collected

This website collects and processes the following data:

• Personal Data: Including IP address (which is anonymized when consent is not provided), browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types, operating system, and platform.
• Usage Data: Information about how you use the website, including page views, navigation paths, and time spent on pages.
• Cookie Data: Information stored through cookies and similar tracking technologies.
• Placement requests: When you ask to place your own object on the sky view or the map, we keep what you send (the files, the name to show, the position or vessel numbers, the business contacts you agree to show, your e-mail and note) privately until it is decided: by our automatic checks, which include a moderation check by an external provider of the name, the note, the contacts you agree to show and the logo, without your e-mail address, and by our team whenever the checks question anything. Only an approved and paid placement (or one whose contribution our team waived) is published, and only with the name, link and contacts you gave for it. The files of a declined request are deleted when it is declined, the published files of a placement are deleted when it ends, and the personal details and files of declined, ended and unanswered requests are deleted after 183 days, or at once when you ask us.
• Sponsored requests: When you propose a sponsored mention or partnership at the end of a guide, we keep the company, your e-mail, the page, the text, the link and the budget you send, when you accepted the terms, and, once you confirm by e-mail, our offer and your payment. Before our offer leaves, an automatic check by a language model of an external provider reads the request, without your e-mail address and link. After the payment our automatic checks read the exact text, including a moderation check by an external provider of the company and the text, without your e-mail address and link; only a paid request whose exact text passed them, or that our team approved where they questioned anything, is published, labelled Sponsored, with the company, the text and the link you gave for it. The e-mail, the text and the link of a declined, ended or unconfirmed request, and our notes and letters about it, are deleted 183 days after the request closes, or at once when you ask us; the record of a payment stays, as accounting requires.
• Steps toward a payment: When you move toward a donation or a purchase (the support strip, the donate or checkout page, the amount and the way to pay you choose, the payment page, the payment), we record each step with the product, the amount, the country and the way to pay, so that our two decision makers are told of it by e-mail and in a private Telegram chat. Without an account, and with an account in private mode before it opens a payment page, the steps are kept under a code made from your address and browser, or from your account, mixed with a secret of ours and changed every day; we never join them to your account, even when you then pay. Once an account opens a payment page, or while its private mode is paused, its steps carry its account number, never a name or an e-mail address. These records are deleted 90 days after they start.

• Private mode: every registered account has private mode on by default, free. While it is on, the page is served to you without the Google Analytics script at all: it is never loaded, so Google never receives your visit. This applies only to a signed-in account; a visitor who is not signed in, or who has paused private mode, is covered by this section as usual. SeaLagom itself keeps only a daily count of how often each feature is opened or locked, by plan, with no account, name or address in it, and the steps toward a payment under a code that changes every day and is never joined to your account (see Steps toward a payment above). We keep where your account first came from (a link or a referral) and what you paid. Nothing else about what you do.
• Google Analytics uses cookies to collect information about how visitors use this site.
• Information collected includes your IP address (which may be anonymized), browser type, referring pages, pages visited, and time spent on the site.
• This information is used to analyze user behavior, compile reports on website activity, and provide other services related to website activity.
• Google may transfer this information to third parties where required by law, or where third parties process data on Google's behalf.

• All maritime information is collected from public sources, and at the time of display, the source did not restrict any use of the information
• This site does not create or own any of the maritime data displayed, except for content based on my professional experience as a licensed navigator
• No claim of ownership is made over any maritime information
• Any content will be promptly removed or exhibited upon legitimate request from rights holders or users

7. Children's Privacy

This website is not intended for children under the age of 16. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact me so that I can take necessary actions.
