LOWER MISSISSIPPI RIVER - UPPER MISSISSIPPI RIVER General / Marine Construction (Excluding Bridges) / Facilities, Barriers, Manmade Reefs, Riprap, Jetties / Dikes Continuing through October 2026, construction will be conducted for a new 50 ft diameter guide cell downstream of Lock and Dam 25. The new guide cell will be constructed approximately 340 ft downstream of the existing guide cell. Intermittent periods of active construction will take place adjacent to the navigation channel throughout the duration of the project. L/D 25 will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., on October 14, 2026. Additional Lock closures may be required as construction of the guide cell continues. Mariners should be on the lookout for construction activities and related equipment to include barges, cranes, and work boats that will be operating in the area. All vessels should be alert for, and abide by, any special instructions that may be issued by the Lockmaster.
