General / Autonomous Vessel Operations
Gulf of America - Autonomous Vessel Testing --- --- The Autonomous Surface Vessel (ASV) SEA ARCHER will conduct daily tests with the escort vessel GUNSLINGER in the Gulf of America. Operations will be conducted from sunrise to sunset, daily. The ASV will operate in one of three testing areas. The offshore testing area south of the Mississippi barrier islands will be bound by approximate positions: 30-12.00N 088-57.58W, 30-13.72N 088-52.15W, 30-13.72N 088-41.73W, 30-12.38N 088-35.12W, 30-01.82N 088-35.12W and 30-01.82N 088-47.75W. The escort vessel will remain within 500 meters of the ASV at all times. Mariners are requested to maintain a 0.5 nautical mile closest point of approach from the ASV SEA ARCHER and can contact M/V GUNSLINGER for questions regarding the operation.
