General / Autonomous Vessel Operations
Chandeleur Sound - Unmanned Surface Vessel Testing --- --- Unmanned surface vessel (USV) testing will be conducted in Chandeleur Sound, southwest of the Gulfport Ship Channel. Operations will be conducted Monday through Friday, from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Between two and three USVs will be operating in various testing sites throughout the operational period. A chase boat will be assigned to each USV. Mariners should maintain at least a 0.5 nautical mile closest point of approach from the operating USVs and transit the area with caution.
