Lake Pontchartrain - Survey and Boring Operation --- --- Survey and geotechnical drilling operations will be conducted off Goose Point in Lake Pontchartrain. Surveys will be conducted during daylight hours at eight separate locations, in an area bound by approximate positions: 30-15.08N 090-02.37W, 30-16.54N 090-01.44W, 30-14.97N 089-58.53W and 30-13.64N 089-59.45W. The survey vessel may operate at slow speeds with survey equipment deployed in the water. Following completion of the surveys, geotechnical drilling will be conducted at eight proposed boring locations in the same area. Geotechnical boring will be conducted from a marine geotechnical drilling platform/pontoon. The drilling platform/pontoon may remain stationary at individual boring locations for extended periods. Mariners are requested to exercise caution when transiting the area, maintain a safe distance from survey and drilling operations and any deployed equipment, and transit at their slowest safe speed to minimize wake.
