Schooner Bayou Control Structure - Waterway Condition/Lock Closure --- Reported: 2026-10-27 --- Due to low water and high salinity levels in the Mermentau Basin, the Schooner Bayou Control Structure is closed until further notice. All vessels must use Leland Bowman Lock as an alternate route. The Lockmaster can be contacted for additional information at (337) 737-2470 or (337) 316-3662.
