Atchafalaya River - GIWW Morgan City to Port Allen Alternate Route - Bridge Closure --- --- The BNSF Railroad Drawbridge across the Atchafalaya River/GIWW Alternate Route in Berwick Bay will undergo repairs to the wire ropes. The drawbridge will not open to vessels on the following dates and times: 01OCT2026, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 05OCT2026, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., 06OCT2026, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 07OCT2026, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., 08OCT2026, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 13OCT2026, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., 14OCT2026, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 21OCT2026, 8:00 a.m., to 22OCT2026, 12:00 a.m., 27OCT2026, 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., 28OCT2026, 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 04NOV2026, 8:00 a.m., to 05NOV2026, 12:00 a.m. At the end of each work period, all waterborne equipment will be removed from the bridge’s main channel. A bridge tender will be on-scene during these periods. Mariners may contact the bridge tender to obtain project updates and are requested to transit the area with caution.
