SECTOR NEW YORK, SUBMERGED LANDS ACT (SLA) - SANDY HOOK CHANNEL
General / Marine Construction (Excluding Bridges) / Dredging
Mariners are advised that Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, LLC will conduct channel maintenance dredging in Sandy Hook Channel, New York Harbor, NJ, from October 4, 2026, through approximately mid-November 2026. Operations will occur 24 hours a day, seven days a week, under U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Contract W912DS-26-C-0022. Project vessels will include the mechanical dredge Dredge 54, tugboats Charles James and Larry J. Hebert, scow barges 501 and 502, and the survey/crew boat Calcasieu River. Dredged material will be transported to the Sea Bright Offshore Borrow Area placement site. Project vessels will monitor VHF Channels 13 and 16. Mariners are urged to exercise caution, proceed at a safe speed, maintain a safe distance from dredging and towing operations, and contact project vessels on VHF Channel 13 or 16 to arrange safe passage.
