General / Autonomous Vessel Operations
Fathomwerx Proving Ground (FPG) will conduct unmanned vessel operations in the Santa Barbara Channel on the following dates: November 2–6, November 9–13, November 16–20, and November 23–25, 2026, daily from 0700 to 1900. Approximately 12 vessels will be involved in the exercise. Operations will be confined to a 5 by 5 nautical mile box bounded by the following coordinates: 34-18.89N 119-25.01W; 34-15.34N 119-19.18W; 34-10.49N 119-23.45W; and 34-14.04N 119-29.29W. Mariners are requested to maintain a safe distance from the testing area and the FPG Support perimeter security vessel. Communications may be made on VHF-FM Channel 16 by hailing “FPG Support Vessel Water Lead,” or by phone at 805-837-7468. Chart US3CA69M applies. All mariners are advised to transit the area with caution.
