Gulf of America - Platform Removal and Buoy Deployment --- --- Three platforms have been removed from the Gulf of America, South Pass Area, Block 60. The subsea sites where the platforms previously existed may have debris piles in the area. A buoy has been deployed in approximate position 29-03.17N 088-58.34W, to mark the area with suspected remaining debris. Trawling vessels should avoid the area until further notice. Mariners are urged to maintain a wide berth from the buoy and previous platform sites until the project is complete.
