GIWW - Harvey Lock Closure/Waterway Condition --- Reported: 2026-09-09 --- Due to low water conditions and reverse head risks, the Harvey Locks will be closed to navigation until further notice. Mariners are urged to use their slowest safe speed while passing the Lock/Harvey Canal to minimize impacts to the lock. Algiers Lock can be used as an alternate route. For up-to-date information, the Lockmaster at Harvey Lock can be reached at (504) 366-4683 or the lock wall can be contacted at (504) 366-5187.
