BISCAYNE BAY General / Bridges Location: 25-47.04N 080-13.11W Bridge Name: 836 Double-Decked State Route Bridge Mariners are advised that maintenance work to replace the fender system is scheduled from 15 November 2026 through 2 August 2027. The navigable channel will be obstructed during two anticipated construction phases: (1) East Tangent Section: December 28, 2026–February 1, 2027, and (2) West Tangent Section April 24, 2027–May 29, 2027. Construction is anticipated Monday through Friday, 0700–1100 and 1200–1530, excluding federal holidays and weekends. The navigation channel has a horizontal clearance of 75 feet. During active in-water operations, a 110-foot by 40-foot spud crane barge will be the primary work platform and is expected to obstruct approximately half the channel, leaving about 35-40 feet available for the passage of marine traffic. Mariners requiring a full channel opening should provide at least two hours’ advance notice to the work barge via VHF-FM marine radio channel 13. Mariners are advised to keep clear of the work area when possible and exercise caution when transiting nearby. Valid 2026-04-24 to 2027-08-02. USCG Southeast District Local Notice to Mariners 44/2026
