Location: 38-10.20N 075-57.35W Aid Name: Upper Thorofare Channel Light 1UT LLNR: 23560 Action: DISCONTINUE On February 2, 2026, Upper Thorofare Light 1UT (LLNR 23560) was damaged with approximately 12”-24” of steel pile above the waterline. This wreckage is marked with a temporary lighted buoy (TRLB). Due to reduced water depths; in accessing the Upper Thorofare Light 1UT area the Coast Guard will attempt to remove the wreckage and if successful will discontinue the TRLB and and establish Upper Thorofare Light Buoy 2UT in approximate position:38 10 10.272N—75 57 23.220W with a flashing 2.5 second red LED light that has 4nm nominal range .
