Mariners are advised that coastal restoration work will be conducted in Jamaica Bay, at Sommerville Basin along the east shore, in approximate position 40-36.17N 073-47.03W, from November 9, 2026, through March 31, 2027, or sooner. The project involves installation of a stone sill to retain sand and restore tidal salt marsh habitat. Operations are expected Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.; however, work hours may vary based on tidal conditions. Equipment on scene may include an articulating dump truck, bulldozer, front-end loader, and tracked long-reach excavator. All work will occur outside the navigation channel.
