MAIN CHANNEL - HUDSON RIVER

Mariners are advised that maintenance dredging operations will be conducted at the Sims Metal Terminal within the Port of Albany, along the western shore of the Hudson River near river mile 141.5, from October 19 through November 30, 2026, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The approximately 1.5-acre work area will include a sectional excavator spud barge, hopper barges, tugboat, and workboats. A lighted turbidity curtain marked with spar buoys will surround the in-water work area; support vessels may operate outside the curtain at times. The federal navigation channel will remain open, and dredging activities are not expected to impede transiting vessel traffic. Mariners should exercise caution, reduce wake as appropriate, and contact the contractor on VHF-FM Channels 13 or 16, or by telephone at 518-260-3064, for passing information.
