SWASH CHANNEL - RARITAN BAY
General / Marine Construction (Excluding Bridges) / Dredging
Curtin Maritime, represented by Project Manager Robert Collaro, will conduct mechanical clamshell dredging in the New York and New Jersey Channels—specifically the Seguine, Ward, and Outerbridge reaches—from August 1, 2026, to October 1, 2026. Operations will run continuously, 24 hours per day, seven days a week. The equipment on scene will include the DB Avalon dredge, three scows (Crown Point, Rincon Point, and Stony Point), three towing tugs, and one assist tug. All vessels will monitor VHF-FM Channels 13 and 16 for communications. Mariners are advised that passing arrangements require a “Slow Bell” request and one hour’s notice to move vessels out of the channel to avoid impeding navigation. For further information, Robert Collaro can be contacted at 772-643-0784 or [email protected]. The Local Notice to Mariners should be submitted to the U.S. Coast Guard First District two weeks prior to the start of operations, and publication does not constitute project approval. Coordination with the appropriate Coast Guard Sector is required before publication.
Valid 2026-08-01 to 2026-10-01.
