Olympic Coast National Marine Sanctuary has deployed one sub-surface mooring, titled OC-02, in position 48-29.07N 125-00.00W. OC-02 is an acoustic mooring deployed at a depth of 94 meters. The sub-surface gear consists of four scientific instruments connected with a combination of chain and Amsteel line. There is no surface gear on this mooring and the top of the float measures 6.2 meters above the sea floor. This gear supports an effort to achieve continuous acoustic monitoring of the underwater environment at this site over a five-year period.
