LOWER MISSISSIPPI RIVER - UPPER MISSISSIPPI RIVER
General / Marine Construction (Excluding Bridges) / Facilities, Barriers, Manmade Reefs, Riprap, Jetties / Dikes
Continuing until December 4, 2026, the M/V LAURA K., will be installing concrete mats and riprap over a pipeline in the vicinity of Mile 500.5. Work will be conducted from 7:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. The work extends about 600 ft from the left descending bank, into the navigation channel and across the sailing line. Work barges will occupy the left descending side of the channel during work hours. Commercial divers will be in the water daily. We are asking vessels to pass on the right descending (Iowa) side after passing arrangements have been made. The M/V LAURA K., will monitor VHF-FM Channel 13 or 16. After work hours, the boat and all barges will be removed from the navigation channel and moored along the left descending bank, outside the channel, and will be lighted appropriately. Mariners are urged to transit the area at their slowest safe speed to minimize their wake and proceed with caution.
