On October 10, 2026, from 5:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., the Derby City Head Race will be held between approximate Miles 599.0 and 604.0. The U.S. Coast Guard COTP Ohio Valley has issued a Special Local Regulation, closing the river for this event. Vessels are prohibited from transiting this area unless specifically authorized by the U.S. Coast Guard COTP Ohio Valley or a designated representative. U.S. Coast Guard Sector Ohio Valley will monitor VHF-FM Channel 16. Mariners may contact the event manager at (404) 200-4024, for additional information.
