Gulf of America - Timbalier Bay - Dredge Operation --- --- The Dredges C.R. McCASKILL, MAGDALEN and R.B. WEEKS will conduct dredging operations offshore, approximately 7.5 nm south of Whiskey Pass, for the West Bell Headland repair project. Operations will be conducted 24-hours a day, 7-days a week. The dredges will operate in an area bound by approximate positions: 28-55.89N 090-56.08W, 28-55.25N 090-39.92W, 28-53.69N 090-39.96W and 28-54.03N 090-56.10W. Dredged material will be transported via scow barges inshore and pumped into the designated fill placement area near Timbalier Bay using a combination of 30-inch diameter submerged, floating and shore pipelines. Mariners are urged to use extreme caution and transit the project areas at their slowest safe speed to create minimum wake after passing arrangements have been made.
