Location: 36-43.26N 076-14.39W Bridge Name: 168 State Route Bridge Mariners are advised that the highway drawbridge – S168 (168 State Route/Great Bridge) across the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway (AIWW), South Branch of the Elizabeth River to the Albemarle and Chesapeake Canal, mile 12.0, at Chesapeake, VA, will be maintained in the closed-to-navigation position to facilitate the Chesapeake Rotary Christmas Parade. The bridge will remain in the closed position from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. and from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday December 5, 2026. Vessels able to pass through the bridge in the closed position may do so at any time. The bridge will be able to open for emergencies. At all other times, the drawbridge will operate in accordance with the operating regulations set out in Title 33 Code of Federal Regulations Part 117.997(f). Mariners should adjust their transits accordingly and should use caution when transiting the area. MSI #57690.
