Location: 34-13.07N 077-47.81W Bridge Name: 74 State Route Bridge Mariners are advised that an engineering firm, on behalf of the North Carolina Department of Transportation, will conduct bridge-removal operations at the S.R. 74 Bridge over Kenan’s Creek, mile 0.1, at Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. From November 18, 2026, through December 26, 2026, bridge-removal operations will occur Monday through Saturday, between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. During construction hours, a barge will be positioned under the S.R. 74 Bridge to support demolition activities, reducing the available horizontal clearance to approximately 19 feet. Outside of construction hours, the barge will be positioned along the banks or removed from the water. The project foreman may be contacted on VHF-FM Channel 13. Mariners are urged to use extreme caution when transiting the area.
