Location: 40-44.29N 072-52.12W Bridge Name: Smith Point Bridge Suffolk County has begun the construction of the Smith Point Bridge replacement across Narrow Bay at mile point 6.1, between Mastic Beach and Smith Point, NY. A 20’ x 50’ Poseidon sectional barge is onsite and will be moored on the southern end of the north trestle initially. 20’ x 8’ Aluminum Work Skiff is onsite, moored in the marina and assisting around site during the day. Barges will be in the waterway until August 1, 2027. All barges will be positioned outside of the navigational channel. Mariners with any questions or concerns may contact Nicholas Iaboni at (516) 551-7879. Mariners that can pass without a bridge opening may do so and are advised to exercise caution when transiting the area.
