Adaptive sailing regattas in Portimão (Rio Arade / Praia da Rocha), 1-10 Oct

Adaptive sailing regattas (World Sailing Inclusive Championships 2026) will take place in the Portimão harbour area and off Praia da Rocha. Events run daily 1-10 October 2026 between 10:00 and 17:00 (times given as local in message). Three race areas are established near the harbour breakwater, the fishing port inner harbour and two offshore race fields in front of Praia da Rocha. Anchorage is prohibited in the inner harbour area in front of Praia Grande de Ferragudo and vessels transiting the race areas must keep a safe distance, steady course and slow speed.

Give the race areas a safe berth, maintain steady course and reduced speed while inside the navigation channel, keep special watch for adaptive sailing boats transiting to/from Marina de Portimão. Do not anchor in the inner harbour area in front of Praia Grande de Ferragudo.

Avisa-se toda a navegação que, entre os dias 1 e 10 de outubro de 2026, diariamente entre as 10h00 e as 17h00 , na zona portuária do Rio Arade e na área marítima em frente à Praia da Rocha, Portimão, irão decorrer as regatas de vela adaptada “World Sailing Inclusive Championships 2026” . As regatas decorrerão em três campos de regata, conforme imagem divulgada: - Anteporto, junto ao Molhe E; - Anteporto do Porto de Pesca; - Exterior do porto, em frente à Praia da Rocha – campo de regata 1 e 2; Toda a navegação que demande as referidas áreas deverá dar resguardo seguro aos campos de regata, manter rumo estável e velocidade reduzida sempre dentro do canal de navegação . Deverá ainda ser prestada especial atenção aos grupos de embarcações de vela adaptada nos seus trajetos de e para a Marina de Portimão. É proibido a permanência de qualquer navio fundeado no anteporto, em frente à Praia Grande de Ferragudo. Solicita-se a toda a navegação o cumprimento das presentes recomendações, de forma a garantir a segurança dos participantes e das restantes embarcações.
