Description
Approximately 200 sailing vessels participating in the Port Huron to Mackinac Island race taking place from 18 Jul 2026 until 21 Jul 2026.
The shore course proceeds along the western shores of Lake Huron from Port Huron to Mackinac Island. The Cove Island course departs Port Huron for Cove Island and across to Mackinac Island. Courses follow and cross shipping lanes.
The U.S. Coast Guard has established a regulated area that will be enforced from 181200 UTC Jul 2026 until 210000 UTC Jul 2026; from a line starting at the international border at 43 02.800N 082 23.783W to the U.S. shoreline at the north, to a line starting at the international boundary at 42 58.347N 082 24.897W to the U.S. shoreline at the south. No vessel may enter, transit through, or anchor within the regulated area without the permission of the Coast Guard Patrol Commander who may be contacted on VHF CH16 or by contacting Coast Guard station Port Huron.
